Dr Zulf Masters, OBE - CEO

A doctorate in Clinical Biochemistry, Zulf Masters has had a 34 year career in the pharmaceutical industry, initially gaining valuable international sales and marketing experience with a leading UK research company in the early 1980’s, before founding Masters Pharmaceuticals Limited in 1984. His understanding of Early Access Programs and patients’ needs in Emerging Markets, coupled with his entrepreneurial vision, saw Zulf Masters build the company from its early foundations, operating out a single location, serving only one territory into an expansive international business. Today, the Masters group of companies employs staff on three continents and has attracted a powerful management team to deliver on its continued strategic growth path. In 2004, Zulf Masters was awarded the “Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to International Trade and was runner up for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs award in 2009.


Simon Clarke - Chief Finance Officer

Simon Clarke was appointed CFO of Masters in November 2011, after a successful international career with a number of blue chip multi-nationals.  Simon has a wealth of experience in various different Finance roles in large corporations both at an operating and divisional level.  He qualified with Coopers & Lybrand in London, before moving to New York to work for Colgate Palmolive, performing operational reviews across the globe.  Leading on from this he joined London International Group (now part of Reckitt Benckiser) as Finance Director for their medical devices facility in Thailand, before progressing to Regional Finance Director for Asia Pacific encompassing 13 markets including Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing of both medical devices and branded OTC products.  Simon is a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.


Suzad Masters – Executive Business Development Director, MEA & Asia

Suzad Masters is one of the original founding partners of Masters Pharmaceuticals Ltd.  Suzad remained a silent partner until 1990, when he formally joined the company as Head of Operations initially overseeing the Caribbean market.  He began the earlier part of his career as a broker for a large insurance provider, prior to setting up as an Independent Consultant in the late eighties.  At Masters, Suzad managed the UK operations from the London headquarters, whilst the US office was being established by his brother Zulf. 

Suzad pioneered Masters entry into the Middle East, Europe, Africa and into Asia between 1994 and 1996. Today, Suzad continues in his role of penetrating these complex and demanding markets.


Dr William P. Watson - Group Commercial Director

Dr William P. Watson was appointed Group Commercial Director in October 2016. Prior to joining Masters, Will served as Head of European Business Development for Teva Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for the commercial-stage Speciality (non-generic) Business Development activities in the European region. His previous roles at Teva involved sourcing early stage opportunities (Discovery to Phase 1)  from Academic groups, start-ups, and early stage companies as part of their Innovative Ventures group. Prior to joining Teva, Will was based in Copenhagen at H. Lundbeck A/S, where he was Head of Neuropharmacology in the Drug Discovery area, and latterly Head of Scientific Licensing within the Business Development group. For the last 2 years of that role he was also an employee-elected member of the company’s Board of Directors. A PhD Pharmacologist by training, Will also holds an MBA from the Open University Business School. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors, and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, the British Pharmacological Society and the Royal Society of Biology.


Heather Gamble - Alliance Management Director

Heather joined Masters Pharmaceuticals Ltd as Business Development Director in mid-2011, following fifteen years working in the healthcare sector for both top 20 pharmaceutical companies and also allied service providers, including Nestor Healthcare, where she helped to develop models of care in the UK following the change in legislation allowing GPs to ‘opt out’ of working out-of-hours.  Heather’s early career was as a navigator in the Merchant Navy working for Texaco Overseas Tankship and later Swire Navigation. Following a successful career in the Merchant Navy, Heather established a sales career ashore becoming a Territory Sales Manager for Bass Mitchells & Butlers before joining the Pharma industry working for Baxter Health Care, Fisons and Bayer, in progressively more senior roles. Heather then moved on to Nestor Healthcare where she held the post of Business Developments Director. Prior to joining Masters Heather worked for IMS Health, the world’s largest data assets and data services solutions provider for the pharmaceutical industry.


Graeme Ker - Operations Director

Graeme Ker joined Masters in August 2015 as Operations Director and brings with him a wealth of experience that spans over 35 years in the Pharmaceutical Industry.  Prior to joining Masters, Graeme worked for a number of large Pharmaceutical companies  including  AAH, Ivax (now Teva),Merck and Mylan where he held senior positions in Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales and Procurement.

Graeme is experienced in Supply Chain solutions and will assist Masters in transforming their operation to support their next level of planned growth.

 


Salima Kassam – Quality and Regulatory Director

Appointed as Masters Quality and Regulatory Director in November 2016, Salima brings with her a wealth of experience and management skills gained from working in aseptic sterile manufacturing and wholesale distribution in the pharmaceutical industry.

Salima is an experienced Responsible Person with wide ranging knowledge of the EU Guidelines for Good Distribution Practice. She has previously worked as Head of Quality, Training & Personnel, for a specialist temperature controlled distribution organisation where she focused on continuous improvement and “Right First Time” compliance excellence. 

Salima’s expertise includes the implementation of Quality Management Systems, the harmonisation of business practices, and Quality Assurance mentoring. She has also previously worked as a Lead Auditor.

Salima believes in the importance of understanding and taking in to consideration the differing local and global regulations that apply to international companies, and takes a pragmatic approach to ensuring that Quality is high on everyone’s agenda, adding value and helping the business achieve its goals.


Mohamed Mosa – Business Unit Director for Middle East

Mohamed Mosa has a Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a Masters in Business Administration. He joins the Company from SAI Global, where he was Middle East Territory Manager responsible for business development across the Middle East. His previous roles include International Account and Business Development Manager for BSI, he spent eight years with Nestle, Saudi Arabia as their Medical Field Manager (Sales & Marketing) leading a team of 12 to achieve market share and sales targets, winning the Nestle Middle East Best Team Awards in 2011. His earliest role was Medical Sales Representative at Boehringer Ingelheim, Egypt. Mohamed reports to Suzad Masters, Executive Business Developments Director, Middle East and Asia, operating out of the UK Headquarters.


Ivan Rosetti – Business Unit Director for South America

Ivan Rosetti joins Masters with over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical healthcare sector. With a Degree in Marketing, he has held a variety of commercial sales and marketing positions in Brazil for leading Pharmacos including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Astrazeneca and was the National Sales Manager at Mayne Pharma, where he was responsible for public sector and Government sales. Ivan’s preceding role was National Sales Manager with Merck Serono, Sao Paulo in their Oncology Business Unit, leading the sales and access teams. Ivan’s native language is Portuguese; he is also fluent both in English and Spanish.
